In Summer 2012 ISVA is having a unique Summer Camp in Berlin with “English Courses & Sports” for children aged 3 to 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are pleased to introduce an excitingly different programme in 2012, so that even our recurring visitors will experience thrilling and eventful weeks. Each week will have a different theme with related activities.
Week 1 – Creative Week will evolve around the Arts. Your children will participate in Art and Theatre workshops, where they will create their own masterpieces learn new forms of expression. By combining art and the English language, we create a fun environment which stimulates learning and the children can improve their English language skills significantly. Our campus provides the perfect environment for a creative learning atmosphere. The children will present their projects at the end of the week and parents are invited to come and look at the creative results. We look forward to a truly inspiring week!
Week 2 – Nature and Animals Week will transform our classrooms into fascinating animal kingdoms. We aim to awaken your children’s interest in nature and raise their environmental awareness. Learners will enjoy a number of exciting educational activities centred upon this theme. This, along with the natural woodland environment of ISVA’s grounds, will serve as a perfect stimulus for the fun and learning. In keeping with the Animal theme, we will be spending a day at the Berlin Zoo, where children will take part in a guided tour of the zoo in English and experience the animals they studied in class. This trip will help to increase the children’s general knowledge and broaden their English vocabulary on the topics of nature and wildlife.
Week 3 – Fantasyland aims to stretch the minds and creativity of the children and let their imagination run free. This theme reaches out to the stars by taking us from childhood fairy tales to fantasies about space shuttles and the vastness of the night sky. With various interesting activities your children will literally be exposed to an entirely new world and have a fantastic week filled with fun and adventure. This week takes us to the Berlin Planetarium, where the children will be treated to an exclusive tour in English where they will learn about the mysterious wonders of our solar system and beyond!
The Summer Camp will be open to ISVA students as well as to children from other state and private schools all over Berlin who are not only interested in experiencing joyful holidays, but also wish to improve their English skills without having to stick their noses in dusty books or spending their holidays cramming grammar.
Day care during the holidays
The Camp takes place Mondays to Fridays 9.00am – 4.00pm. Additional care from 7.30am – 9.00 am and 4.00 pm – 5.30 pm is also available.
The ISVA Summer Camp is more than just a day care programme for children of working parents. At our Summer Camp children will make new friends, improve their English, share experiences and end the summer with memories for a lifetime. Your children will benefit from our highly qualified team, great activities, and the cosmopolitan atmosphere at the International School Villa Amalienhof.

Summer Camp Location
The Campus is located in a green and wooded area of Berlin Spandau. On the spacious and beautiful grounds of the International School Villa Amalienhof children have the opportunity to enjoy excellent sports and recreational facilities during the summer holidays. Additionally, the art and music studios, and the modern class rooms will be available for our Summer Camp.
Courses
Course 1: FIRST STEPS IN ENGLISH
“First Steps” is a fun day care programme in English geared for the little ones. Our committed and professional teachers will offer Art, Music and age appropriate games. This course must be booked for the duration of at least one week.
Course 2: ENGLISH & SPORTS
“English & Sports” is directed towards all Primary aged children with varied English levels. The children will be divided into groups according to their language level. An assessment of their English language abilities will take place on the first day. Besides daily English lessons the children will have fun playing sports and creative games, all in English. Our staff will also introduce a variety of activities including Music, Arts and Drama. This course must be booked for the duration of at least one week.
Course 3: INTENSIVE ENGLISH
This programme is aimed at students at Secondary school level who would like to have the chance of improving their English during holiday time. Children will undergo an English assessment. The courses are designed to meet the needs of English as Foreign Language (EFL) students. Children will be taught by specialized native speaking EFL teachers. Integral to the language courses will be current affairs, round table discussions and attractive outdoor activities on the compound. There will be optional field trips into Berlin all of which would be conducted in the English language. Children may take advantage of our sports and recreational facilities. This is a 3 week course.

Course 3: INTENSIVE ENGLISH can only be booked for the whole 3 week period. It will be taking place with a minimum of 12 students.
5% discount will be granted for each additional sibling. A Camp T-Shirt, all sports activities and excursions and food & drink are included in the fee.
Morning and afternoon care costs €12.50 per session. If you book the additional care service for a whole week €25.00 discount is granted
Trial days for the undecided can be booked for €55.00 per day
